This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a first-year teacher and will be teaching 2nd grade in the upcoming school year. I am wanting to make sure that I create an inclusive and representative classroom library that encourages my students to read and learn more about the world around them. These books and supplies will be in our classroom library which students will always be able to access.

I am looking forward to having my students learn more about themselves and everything around them through books.

My goal is to create a classroom library that invites students to read and encourages them to find joy in reading. I am also trying to create a space that makes students feel safe and welcome. Any of the books or items on this list will be enjoyed by all of my students in the upcoming school year!
