Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Stories are powerful, and being able to read them independently makes them even more so. With these listening stations, my students will be able to work on their reading skills and enjoy reading books that are at their grade level.

My students are brilliant, funny, and motivated.

They are resilient beyond belief and determined to graduate from high school. Many of them will be first in their families to attend college. Quite a few of my kids struggle with reading novels that are at or above their grade level, and these listening stations will help them both improve their skills and experience good books.

My Project

As a result of these listening stations, I will be able to create literature circles in my classroom that will enable kids to read books that match their ability and interest. Students will be able to practice their skills (fluency, comprehension, etc.) with texts that interest them. They will then be able to have small group discussions around a text they have all read.

These listening stations are going to help students focus, enjoy reading, and increase skills.

This particular product will continue to impact students in years to come given the durability. I look forward to having these listening stations become a major part of my classroom.
