Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

What I love most about my students is their resilience. High school students carry so much on their shoulders—academic pressure, responsibilities at home, jobs, friendships, and plans for their futures. Yet every day, they walk into my classroom ready to try. They make me laugh, challenge my thinking, and constantly remind me why this work matters. They deserve a space that reflects how much they matter.

For some, it is the most stable and consistent environment they have.

I work hard to make my classroom a safe, welcoming space where they feel respected and valued. A clean environment plays a bigger role in that than people often realize. The vacuum will allow me to keep our classroom carpets clean and reduce dust and allergens so students can focus without distractions. With over 100 students moving through the room daily, dirt and debris build up quickly. The disinfecting wipes will help sanitize desks and shared materials between classes, reducing the spread of germs and keeping students healthy, especially during cold and flu season.

Paper towels and tissues are essential in a high school classroom. Whether it’s cleaning up a lab activity, wiping down desks, or supporting students during allergy season, these supplies are used daily. Having consistent access to them ensures students can take care of themselves and their environment without disruption. Air fresheners will help maintain a fresh and comfortable atmosphere, reinforcing that this is a space that is intentionally cared for.

When students walk into a classroom that is clean, organized, and welcoming, they feel a sense of pride and belonging. These resources will help me maintain an environment where students can focus, feel safe, and fully engage in their learning.
