This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students requested an aquarium earlier this year and it has greatly benefited their learning, and mental health, and ignited their interest in science.

We now need further supplies to create an even more robust and highly functioning aquatic ecosystem.

We were so fortunate to have the tank and non-living items donated earlier this year and all of the living items including the shrimp and aquatic plants in the aquarium I personally donated. My students have requested we enhance the current ecosystem by adding more shrimp and increasing the biodiversity with a variety of plants. We also need to resupply many of the maintenance items like the water conditioner and tank nutrients to create balance in the tank.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
