Creating a Calm, Supportive Classroom for 3rd–5th Grade Learners

My Project

My 3rd–5th grade resource students are bright, capable learners who need additional support, structure, and motivation to build foundational reading and math skills. My classroom is currently very bare, and I am seeking materials that will help create a welcoming, supportive, and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable taking academic risks.

These materials will support small-group instruction, independent practice, and positive behavior reinforcement.

Flexible seating, hands-on academic tools, and visual supports will allow me to meet students where they are academically while also supporting focus, confidence, and perseverance. Many of my students require repeated practice, explicit instruction, and encouragement to stay engaged, these resources will make learning more accessible, interactive, and motivating.

By combining academic materials with incentive systems and calming classroom supports, this project will help my students feel safe, successful, and excited about learning every day.
