Crazy Kids, Crazy Hats, Lots of Spanish!

My students need these hats to make learning Spanish fun. We co-create class stories together and students act them out to make the language more comprehensible. Kids LOVE wearing the hats!

My Students

My students are excited to learn a new language, to play in that new language, and use that new language outside of school.

Using hats, masks, props makes learning effortless and FUN!

My students learn a language not through memorizing word lists and grammar rules, but by living and experiencing the language as babies learn their first language.

Through singing, talking, and reading the second language, my students are absorbed in the language on a daily basis and learn it effortlessly.

My Project

Kids are always wanting to wear the hats and create stories using them.

Using props like hats, students are more engaged in the learning process and higher engagement means more language being acquired.

Acting out class-created stories makes learning Spanish effortless. The kids don't even realize that they're learning another language or that they're hearing and understanding in a second language. All they care about is adding more details to the story and volunteering to be an actor and getting to wear a hat!

In this ever shrinking planet, students need to learn a second language to be globally competitive in the 21st Century.
