My Students

Our school serves 6th through 8th-grade students. Our school is a Title I school, where all students receive free lunch. Our students have diverse backgrounds from places in the Bay like Oakland and outside the Bay like Yemen and Mexico. Spanish is the home language of many of our students at UFSA. Our students are passionate learners and thrive inside and outside of the classroom. While thriving academically, many of our students also play for our school's soccer, football, and volleyball team.

There has been an increase in the number of students that have made SRI growth and achieved grade-level goals.

My Project

Post pandemic, I think new, flexible, comfortable, matching seating will allow my students to feel like this is their space...created just for them without dealing with the antiquated, wobbling, mismatched tables and chairs pre pandemic provided by the district. My students have spent the last 18 months during the global pandemic doing school from home. As we transition back to the classroom, I want to welcome them with an inviting, comfortable environment.

I want my students to have the best materials to aid their learning in the 2021-2022 school year.
