My Project

My students who come from diverse backgrounds, many from low-income families and Spanish-speaking households, bring richness to our classroom. Their resilience and eagerness to learn inspire me daily and I am committed to creating an atmosphere that feels like a second home for them.

The heart of this project lies in two key elements: cozy classroom rugs and a supply of hot chocolate.

The rugs will serve as the foundation for a warm, inviting space where my students can gather, learn, and build a sense of community. A comfortable and welcoming environment is crucial for their social and emotional well-being, fostering a positive attitude toward learning.

The hot chocolate isn't just a delicious treat; it's a tool for language practice. With a significant number of my students coming from Spanish-speaking households, incorporating language learning into everyday activities is essential. We plan to use the hot chocolate sessions for conversational practice in Spanish, turning a simple break into a valuable learning opportunity.

I'm excited for my students to experience more warmth, care, and fullness in my classroom.
