My Students

Upon entering my middle school 6th grade Science classroom (the light bulb learning lab), my students are always eager to learn! Most of my students have never heard anything about lab safety. My students do not let their sometimes limited resources hinder their thirst for knowledge. Given their willingness to learn, by the end of the school year, they will become the junior scientists that they were meant to be.

My Project

There is a new and more contagious strain of the COVID-19 virus sweeping the nation. To protect my students from potential infection, I want to be able to provide a healthy, safe, and sanitized learning environment that reduces the number of germs transferred within the classroom. My students have so much to worry about outside of my classroom that I want to provide them with a sense of reassurance within my classroom. It is often hard to focus on learning when you are stressed about what you have touched or what germs might be transferred during learning.

The Lysol wipes, Lysol spray, gloves, and multi-sized masks mentioned within this project will help me to keep my students healthy and Covid free.

Although this is year two of us learning during a pandemic, it still does not get any easier. I want my students to feel safe upon their arrival into my classroom and to also be able to learn without having extra anxieties about possibly catching a deadly virus.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
