My Students

The students at my school are eager to learn and especially enjoy learning through books. As a school, we strive to instill a lifelong love of reading.

As a charter school in a lower income area with more than 40 percent of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunches, my students do more with less.

Yet, their passion to succeed can be seen in the fact that we test as one of the top schools in the state on standardized tests.

My Project

A cordless scanner means more chance for social distancing between the student and the librarian. Students are also afforded the opportunity to scan their own books, so contact isn't as spread. After each use, sanitation wipes would be provided to ensure that students are protected.

By allowing the students the opportunity to scan their own books, they will be afforded the ability to feel a deeper sense of community within the library.

This is also a great asset to the library for other maintenance needs, such as inventory and weeding. A cordless option would greatly benefit everyone involved.
