I firmly believe that when given the proper tools and some free time to think, kids can create amazing things. The purpose for my Makerspace in the library is to offer my students the opportunity to let their minds expand and be creative. By giving my students a 3-D printer pen, I am giving them another medium with which to use to let their ideas become a reality. It takes some thought and engineering to understand how to get each creation to stand or function as a 3-D object should. This activity requires thought and problem solving, rewarding students with a creation made from his or her very hands. That is empowering and in my opinion, priceless.
