Cooking Experience

Help me give my students opportunities to learn simple cooking skills and try new things.

My Project

The students in my class have cooking experiences weekly on Friday. The cooking lessons are aligned with reading, speech, and math activities. Before cooking, the students work with staff to learn about the cooking tools that will be used, as well as the actual food that will be made. When cooking, the students engage in the process; measuring flour, pouring milk, cutting items needed (with help), etc. They all enjoy the process and are proud of their final product.

By donating to our project, you will provide my students with additional opportunities for cooking new items.

The opportunity to cook increases their skills and exposure to new foods. We have students that have never tried some items and have been willing to take one bite or more when it is something they have helped to make.
