Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a low-income area. Many of them do not have any prior experience in educational settings. My students are highly energetic learners who need help to reach their full potential.

My students are eager to learn.

They love coming to school but do not always have the resources required to reach their full potential. With your help, I can provide them with activities to succeed this year.

My Project

In my new position, I am working with students in kindergarten through 3rd grade. In my kindergarten and first grade small groups, we are working on phonics skills and reading short CVC stories. In my second and third grade groups, we are working on comprehension and decoding skills. I am continually printing new task cards to use, but need better storage.

The organizing cases will help keep grade level task cards and games together.

Task cards for all grade levels are currently stored in Zip-lock bags in a box. With the new containers, I will be able to see what I have for each grade level without searching for a game.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
