My students’ learning is the most important thing to me. I want them to get better and and show growth every year! These kiddos are so sweet and they try their hardest on their own, in small groups with me, and on their tests.
My students come with so many different experiences.
I want to grow our classroom library, especially in historic fiction. I have students that need help finding great books. My favorite genre is historic fiction. I want to get students interested in a time in history with a great story, so they want to learn more about the time the story was set in!
My Project
Our students do a unit on historical fiction. I want the students to be able to connect what they have learned to the story, or love the story so much they want to learn more about the time period. I'd like my students to have access to the books "The Watsons Go to Birmingham" for Civil Rights, "Liberty's Son" for American Rev, and "I Survived" for Peal Harbor in order to spark their interest in these time periods!
I want students to be able to travel through time with the characters, and then research and learn about what it was really like.
I want my students to have a broad understanding about our past as a country. I then want them to want to dive even deeper into what that time period had that we do not. I want them to want to learn!
