This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are from a rural area in Mississippi. Our school district receives 100% free meals due to the low socio-economic status of the community. We are in desperate need of several supplies to help bridge the gap between education and technology.
I teach special needs students with various disabilities.
My students are excited about learning. Technology is one of the things that really sparks their interest and I aim to go above and beyond to appeal to their interests.
My Project
My special students need Tablets to connect with Nursery Rhymes and online activities. Using these tablets will create excitement in the students' learning process. The would use the tablets in learning centers, access videos, online audio books, and sing along nursery rhymes.
Access to tablets in the classroom will allow the students to achieve beyond the classroom walls.
Using technology in a classroom with just books, will spark the light in their eyes.
I am excited to hope our classroom may have the opportunity to upgrade and become equipped with 21st Century global access. Bringing knowledge from around the World will make a difference in learning new things!
