Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach in the southeast part of town where criminal activities and homelessness is present in the eyes of my young scholars. Most of my students come from homes where both parent speaks limited English. My students come from low-income household where only one parent is working.

With all the challenges of online learning this past year, my students are excited to be back in the classroom.

I can sense their nervousness on the first day of school and at the same time how thrill they are to be back in person. I sense the joy they find in learning everything from reading, writing, math, and even conversations among their classmates.

My Project

Teachers Pay Teachers is my go to site for extra learning resources. What ever skills I am teaching my students that week in class, I like to go outside the norm and look for resources that will engage my students in learning. A challenge of being a teacher is trying to find ways to engage and make learning fun for your students.

By donating to our project, you will give my students the opportunity to enjoy and opened their eyes to fun ways of learning skills that are being taught in the classroom.

These resources cover all standards and will exposed my students to concepts that may not have been taught. This presents a great opportunity for me as a teacher to build background knowledge and assess where my students are before I even teach a specific lesson. I believe that these resources will be an important tool to help all my students learn to the best of their abilities. That is powerful!
