Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a School of Excellence. We are a dynamic community of learners empowering one another to become resilient, inquiring, confident members of the global society.

My students come from a lower economic urban neighborhood of Philadelphia with 95% low-income households and 100% of our students receiving free lunch. This is a Title I school.
My students also love physical activity and love to learn about team sports. My school has nine interscholastic sports teams but needs the funding for new equipment because my school district, school, and most of our students don't have the funds to purchase this type of equipment for us. So please help support my students. Thank you.
During these unprecedented times the pandemic has made teaching and learning more difficult but not impossible.
My Project
The resource I am asking for is a new 13” MacBook Pro laptop.
My 300 plus students need me to be able to teach efficiently in this virtual world.
I need a new computer that can handle all of the programs that I am forced to use to teach in this virtual world without getting logged out from my own Google Meet classes.
Some of the programs that I use with my students are Google Meet, Google Classroom, Smart Learning Suite Online, Jamboard, Google Slides, Bitmoji slides, and videos. My old 2012 Macbook had to be upgraded to High Sierra to use some of these programs and now it is running very slow and my students sometimes have a hard time hearing me on our Google Meet.
An updated computer is an essential tool in order to teach my students in this new virtual world, which my district will be doing for the foreseeable future.
Teachers need updated technology in order to be able to keep up with digital learning demands during the COVID-19 pandemic. My school and district are unable to supply every teacher with these newer laptops during these difficult budget-cutting times.
