Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am the Robotics Coach for our school site. We started our first team last year so now we are in year two. Last year we did well in the local league. We made it to the State Competition and then to Worlds. This year we are currently 1st place in our league and hoping to continue on our journey to State and possibly Worlds.

From one year to the next, the Vex Robotics company has come out with a Generation 2 robot kit.

We are still playing with our Generation 1 robot kit. Our battery dies too soon, and we are not up-to-date with our materials. This kit will help us to upgrade our current robot.

My students are eager to learn. They partake in many life skills such as teamwork, communication, competition, journaling, interviewing, designing, and collaboration with their alliance teams. After the competition season ends, students in my STEM Learning Lab can also use these products to reach more students.
