My Students

My students are amazing. Every day, one student will say that he loves school and there should never be a vacation from it. The majority of my students feel the same.

The group of students I currently teach love learning.

They are very bright and find connections to content being taught. They are really good at recognizing patterns and finding alternative ways to solve problems.

My Project

For my 3rd grade classroom, I’d like to have a set of 30 Fraction Strip boards to aid in teaching fractions. I borrowed a set from another teacher recently and decided I needed a set of my own.

With the fraction strips it will be easier for students to learn fraction comparisons and ordering fractions.

Fraction strips are engaging for students to have a concrete way to see fractions in the forms of least to greatest and greatest to least. Use of fraction strips will also help my students recognize equivalent fractions.
