In our community it is so important for students, parents and leaders to know what is happening in our school and with our kids. Many of our students have parents who are deployed or separated from them. Creating multimedia projects that we can share will help us all stay updated and connected.
My students have a military background as most of them live on a military installation.
They have been through or will go through with their parents deploying for military action. Even with the challenges that deployments cause the students are resilient and persevere as they work hard and love to learn.
My Project
My vision is to have the students produce their own multimedia projects about our school and their experiences to air on the local educational channel and on the web for parents overseas. Students will learn about planning, script writing, storyboarding, production schedules, creating graphics, video editing, on camera talent skills and creating different types of media for television and the web. I am requesting two video cameras to get us started. Hopefully we will be able to add more and grow a strong program to promote communication and collaboration in our community. I hope that this will grow from a class project to a school project and include an after school program, community members, parents and families. This project will impact our students, school, parents and families and the entire community.
This project will impact our students, school, parents and families and the entire community.
It is the beginning of something great and as you know, communication is so important for students to understand. My students in particular are at times separated from loved ones so communicating what they are doing is extremely important for both students and parents to feel connected.
