My third grade students are inquisitive, creative, and ready to learn! Many of them qualify for free or reduced-price lunch and do not have access to the materials or technology that could enhance their learning experiences.
I have students reading anywhere from a first to sixth grade level as well as non-English speakers.
As our school begins to prepare to go "digital" next year, I am eager to introduce my students to new adventures in learning through technology with the aid of flexible seating.
Our school will be a "digital" school next year which means more screen time and an increased need for students to have comfortable seating options in a welcoming environment. As students and teachers are preparing for this change, great consideration has been made to how technology will be integrated into daily lessons and activities.
My goal is to give my students the chance to ease into this transition by providing comfort and flexibility in seating arrangements with the use of "surf lap desks" while they are using their devices.
Giving students this seating option will help students concentrate and offer comfort while promoting student success in the classroom setting that a traditional classroom does not accommodate. The seat's design allows for easy storage in the classroom, making education on-the-go easier and more fun than ever. Sometimes students just need a change of scenery to get their creative juices flowing!
