My Students

Thirty years ago to this day, I attended a wonderful magnet school. The kids were very diverse, the learning was based on projects, and we were given more independence then at a typical elementary school. I loved it so much that it became my dream to one day teach there.

Sixteen years into my career, my dream came true.

The school is still a magical place with a diverse population. I want these kids to have the best and remember their schooling the way I remember mine!

My Project

My students need a new carpet. They absolutely love sitting on the floor and doing their work. Unfortunately, the floor isn't very comfortable to sit on.

Their carpet would be a place where they could comfortably collaborate on their assignments.

It would allow my students to move freely around the classroom in order to form flexible groupings. My students need to work with different students depending on the skill that is being taught.

A new carpet would enable them to be right in the center of the action! It would give them a much better view of what is going on in front.
