Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Physical Education class is the time for friendships, building of physical foundations and lifelong passions. We often are able to introduce students to sports and activities that they can participate in for many years to come. Physical activity needs to be an activity that children enjoy and find a hidden passion for.

Our students come from low socioeconomic, inner city apartments and homes. A full 100% of them are enrolled in the Federal Free Lunch Program. Many of them speak English as a Second Language. However, that does not hinder their love for physical movement, learning and daily life skills.

My Project

Our student-athletes are needing water bottles and colliers to use during athletics. I am constantly reminding them to stay hydrated but not all of them have access to water bottles.

Being able to stay hydrated during sporting activities will help students to stay healthy and continue playing safely.

Water bottles and jugs will be washed and provided for each of our teams that are playing that season.

Our students love participating in football, volleyball, cheerleading, basketball, soccer and run clubs. Being able to keep them hydrated also coincides with us teaching them the importance of taking care of their bodies so they can continue a healthy lifestyle.
