"Intelligence and skill can only function at the peak of their capacity when the body is healthy and strong." John F. Kennedy It is so important that we teach our children the importance of building strong and healthy bodies. Being able to give them the skills in order to do this is why we teach! It's why despite the difficulties we face each day, we come to school to make a difference in their lives, even if it is just one child's life. We are in one of the highest poverty areas in the city. Many of our students come to school each day just so they can have two good healthy meals. We provide free breakfast and lunch to all our students and send food backpacks home for the weekends so we know our students will have food. I know there are many who come to school just to be loved by our staff. We take the time each day to make sure they know we do love them and want nothing but the best for them!
