Celebrating Black History Month

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are sweet kind kids who love to learn. They live in low income areas and this pandemic has made it hard to provide them with the education they deserve. My students are behind their peers who live in higher income school districts. I want to provide them with every advantage that students in other districts have!

My Project

The classroom smartboard touchscreen option is broken. Having a dry erase board would be a good substitution. This will allow me to teach my students crucial literacy and math skills by providing examples. My classroom and school is also low on supplies like markers. My students love to do writing and drawing with markers. I would like for each child to have their own set of markers. Providing them with the tools they prefer will help facilitate their interest in writing. Sharing supplies during the pandemic is not the safest thing to do.
