This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every student deserves the opportunity to experience the excitement of mathematics and feel successful in the classroom. In our Title I, underfunded school, our geometry inclusion class brings together students with a wide range of learning needs, strengths, and abilities. With limited classroom resources, providing engaging, hands-on learning experiences can be challenging.

Geometry has many real-world applications and offers the chance to see the world in full color and make sense of math.

These resources, such as colored pencils, printer ink, and paper, will support hands-on activities, visual learning, and differentiated instruction so that all students can actively participate in geometry.

For language learners and students who learn differently, having access to concrete materials, visual supports, and interactive learning opportunities can make a tremendous difference. Instead of simply completing worksheets and learning through repetition, students can explore these concepts through activities that allow them to see, touch, discuss, and apply what they are learning.
