Coding with Curiosity: Bee-Bots for Kindergarten Coders!

Help me give my students Bee-Bots to help us build future-ready skills through play. Bee-Bots will help us introduce coding, critical thinking, and collaboration in a hands-on, exciting way for our youngest learners.

My Project

In Kindergarten, learning is an adventure—and every day, we’re building the foundational skills that shape future scientists, readers, and problem-solvers. To help nurture these young learners, I’m seeking support to bring Bee-Bots into our classroom—a hands-on, engaging way to introduce coding, critical thinking, and collaboration from the very start.

We would love a set of Bee-Bots — adorable, bee-shaped robots that young children can program with simple directional commands.

Why Bee-Bots? Bee-Bots are specifically designed for early learners. They offer an accessible, screen-free way to introduce basic coding concepts like sequencing, commands, and debugging — all through play! Students press buttons directly on the robot to send it forward, backward, left, or right, planning a route and watching it move. It's immediate, visual, and fun!

How This Helps Our Students:

Promotes Problem Solving: Students plan and test their code, learning how to revise when things don’t go as expected.

Encourages Collaboration: Working in pairs or teams, students practice sharing, taking turns, and explaining their thinking.

Supports Cross-Curricular Learning: Bee-Bots can be integrated into math (counting, direction, patterns), literacy (alphabet navigation), and thematic lessons (like community maps or story sequencing).

Builds Confidence: Our young learners feel empowered when they see their coding in action!

Many of our students are new to school and are still developing the social, academic, and motor skills needed for success. Bee-Bots meet them where they are—offering tactile, visual, and engaging learning experiences that spark joy and build STEM foundations early.
