Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our awesome campus has been gifted a STEM classroom, which also includes my position as the new STEM teacher. As the STEM teacher, I will do everything possible to give every child the best experience I can in 45 minutes. In the STEM classroom, we need tools so that students can learn about the proper tools, routines, and organization students can obtain the skills needed for success in the 21 century.

Over 50% of our student population is considered economically disadvantaged as well as 18% of our students are served under special education.

Most students are able to gain this knowledge through opportunities at home. However, not all of our students get these opportunities at home. STEM will help foster building resilience, encourage experimentation, teamwork, knowledge application, tech use, problem-solving, and adaptation to any environment. The benefits of STEM are endless! This STEM program is going to bring our community together in endless ways.

My Project

These materials will help support our youngest learners by having a hands-on experience of coding with a mouse and a course. Our little learners will have to problem-solve to figure out how to get the mouse from point A to point B. This will help support not only our little learners learning directional coding but also how to problem solve and ask for help. This will help their emotional and social well-being by teaching them that they will always be supported. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and support.
