Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
"Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.”-Maya Angelo. This quote could not be truer for myself and my students. When I can create fun, interactive and engaging lessons that draw my students in and they learn, then we are all successful.
Many students only meal is when they eat at school.
Some students are homeless and/or do not have a stable home life. But despite all of these challenges, all of my students want to learn and be cared for. They come to school to feel safe and know that there are people that want to help in any way we can. For this reason, I vow to make my students feel safe and secure. I want them all to work as hard as I will for them. They see this, feel this, and recognize not everyone is perfect but we can all strive to be better. Kid President always asks, "What will you do to make the world more awesome?" My response is 'teach'.
My Project
My students need clipboards to be able to move about the room when working on content. Some students need to be flexible on how they work. Clipboard will allow them to hold their materials in place when writing.
Some of my exceptional needs students with executive function deficits need support organizing materials.
These folders will help them organize their materials by subject area. They will be guided which section to put their materials in. These folders also have two prongs making it easier for materials to stay where they are placed. I want them to be self-sufficient before sending them to secondary school.
