This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title One school and we have limited resources. More than 85% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. However, it doesn't stop them from working hard in school.
Our classroom is dedicated to promoting sustainability and environmental awareness, and we're excited to embark on a project aimed at acquiring essential cleaning tools: a carpet cleaner, a cordless vacuum cleaner, wipes, a soap dispenser, and hand shop refills.
These items are crucial not only for maintaining the cleanliness of our learning environment but also for advancing our conservation goals. By investing in these tools, we contribute to waste reduction and align with Earth Day values within our educational setting. Proper maintenance of our carpets and floors extends their lifespan, reducing the need for replacement and minimizing waste. Additionally, the use of cordless vacuum cleaners decreases reliance on disposable batteries, thus reducing our environmental footprint.
These requested cleaning tools will benefit our students in several ways. Firstly, it will create a healthier learning environment, promoting better health and well-being among students and teachers alike. Furthermore, it provides an opportunity for hands-on learning, as students will actively participate in maintaining their learning space, learning valuable lessons about responsibility, cleanliness, and sustainability. Moreover, through discussions and demonstrations, students will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of waste reduction, resource conservation, and environmental stewardship.
