Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

While this will be my second year teaching middle school, this will be my first year working with 6th graders. I will be teaching 6th grade Social Studies, which is Ancient Civilization.

Because my school is located near an Air Force base, it has a very diverse population and serves students of all races, ethnicities, religious affiliations and socioeconomic backgrounds.

I feel this is one of the things that makes our school special.

My hope for my classroom is to bring Social Studies to life for the students. I have always loved reading and history and I hope to foster this in my students.

My Project

Returning to school right now is both scary and filled with uncertainty for teachers, students and parents. We all are excited about returning to our classrooms to learn and grow; however, we want to do so as safely as possible. During these unprecedented times of teaching during this Covid-19 epidemic, we must all work together to make school buildings and classrooms safer.

I believe the air sanitizers and filters will help provide a cleaner, and therefore, safer environment for myself and the students.

This will allow both teacher and students to focus on what's important, learning. Thanks for your support.
