My Students

School counseling is an integral part of the school system. Besides academic achievement, students need social-emotional tools to grow and be successful. I have 400 students with a variety of different backgrounds, experiences and opportunities at an inner city school.

Most of my students referred to me are faced with many issues, from parents' divorce, incarceration, grief, drug use, mental health and other stressors that could hinder their learning.

I teach, guide and counsel them to develop their coping skills. With the right resources and supports, I will be better equipped to serve them effectively.

My Project

School counselors provide instruction and counseling both in the classroom and in a small group setting. Space and organization are important to provide services to students.

Having essential classroom/office furniture and supplies will allow me to work productively and support students' learning and their success.

The requested school supplies, such as paper, small laminator and book binder will support students to have what they need while working with me. Ink cartridge will help me print materials for the students, sending notes home for parents. Book shelve, tubs and file holders will bring more organization to my room.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
