My Project

This project has two purposes - the main purpose is to support the classroom next door that does not have a permanent teacher. The teacher left in October and the students have had different guest teachers since then. The students do not have the supplies to complete their language arts assignments - pencils and headphones. The headphones are used for the individualized language arts program the students complete daily. The program has a listening component that goes undone or not done to the best of their ability because they are unable to hear the lesson. The pencils and markers are for all students to use during class.

The second part of this project is updating our math posters.

We have many students who use anchor charts (posters) for support but the ones we have are starting to show their age. We are also looking to replace our broken clock in our classroom. The hands on our current clock get stuck and it’s up so high that I have to climb on a desk to get it down to fix it.

My goals for this project are to help support the students in our language arts class so they can be successful. The students are not all able to supply their own headphones, so right now we have a broken system. Supplying headphones to all students helps to mend the system of all students being able to use headphones to support their learning.

The other goal for my project is to enhance our math support board to supply more visuals to help our students. These posters are left up and kids can reference them as needed. The students love the different colors - they make them very engaging and fun to look at.
