¿¡En serio!? (Seriously!?) This is a beginning Spanish class? There is so much Spanish in the class. The students really understand all this language that is happening? They are having fun too! Welcome to my CI/TPRS classroom where comprehension is key and acquisition is the goal, but the individual students are the most important.
Most of my students have little to no understanding of Spanish to start the year, although we live in a community with a good sized Spanish-speaking population.
Throughout the year they become more and more proficient in Spanish and more culturally sensitive and caring to people of other cultures and backgrounds.
My Project
My students need basic supplies to do classwork. Most of the work we do in class involves listening to an comprehending Spanish. Often this involves getting up and moving around. For that reason my classroom is deskless; however, when we do need to write, clipboards serve the purpose very well. the ones we have now are wearing out and are in need of replacement. We also need pencils and a good pencil sharpener.
By providing these supplies for my students, I am able to keep the Spanish language flowing in the classroom.
Your generous donations and support are greatly appreciated.
