My kindergarten classroom is full of vibrant, active learners. They learn best through exploration and hands-on activities. Their disability of autism does not hold them back from learning or growing.
Majority of the students in my school live below the poverty line.
For many, school is a safe space that they feel free to act their age and explore. Kindergarten is a time to learn through play and exploration while learning the art of making and keeping friends!
Despite facing adversity daily, my students face each day with huge hearts, a love of their classroom family, and an excitement for learning. Our classroom family is built on relationships, trust, and freedom to be ourselves. Learning through shared experiences is important, and we do this together on a daily basis.
I am asking for three pricey items that will help complete my classroom. My kids and I are lucky to be in a large room, but we need help filling it with meaningful furniture that will allow them to play, learn, and grow!
Kindergartners need to explore and play, but also need defined spaces to do so!
The shelf will help provide much needed organization for their materials while also sectioning off the room to clearly define spaces. The room partitions will allow students to have privacy during tough times, provide a visual cue that a space is currently "off limits", and will be used to limit visual distractions to help them focus. Special seating will help my wiggly learners move in a manner that helps them focus all while providing a seat that is built for this movement, thus keeping them safe!
