My Students

I teach a diverse class of second graders at a Title I school. We focus a lot on love, kindness, respect, and responsibility. It makes me one proud teacher to see my students treat each other with respect, use a calming technique when they are angry, and celebrate with classmates on their successes. I look forward to seeing the strides they'll be making in second grade this year, both socially and academically.

My Project

These materials will enhance productivity in the classroom. The doorbell will help signal a transition without me having to raise my voice or clap a pattern. I believe it will lead to quieter transitions. The book bins will help my students as they go to reading groups in other classrooms. They are expected to carry their laptops, headphones, books, and writing journals. These bins will make it so much easier to do that without accidents happening. The mailbox will be a great way for students to organize their completed work and notes that go home each Friday. There are enough spaces for each child to have a slot and some extras for constructions paper.
