Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Best middle school in Dallas! The middle school I work at has a huge diversity of students. It is not only a place where students learn, but a place in which teachers learn as well. Most of our students are low socioeconomic, but that doesn't change their willingness to learn!
Our school supports their ideas in the classroom and reaches into the community to help shape their future as well.
We have a bunch of elementary schools that feed into our middle school and that brings diversity in students and where they are located in the city.
My Project
The items that are going to be in the school store will make a difference in the students lives by helping them understand why working hard is important inside and outside the classroom. Hard work should always be noticed and positive behaviors should be celebrated within the classroom and community. The items that can aid them outside the classroom will be items such as: sports equipment (Nike headbands, water bottles), food, and art supplies.. These items will help the students help the community and themselves.
"The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination." Sometimes in the classroom we forget to celebrate success and forget that our students are still learning how to achieve hard work.
The project with help students use points they earn within the classroom to buy items in the school store, and understand budgeting their points to achieve what they want to buy.
The food items like the Fritos and Airheads will be helpful to students that need some extra snacks at home for the weekend, or before any events at school. The sports equipment will be helpful for the student to use in the community to give them ideas and games to play. The school items can be used in school or just a hobby outside of class. Also, there are STEM projects they can use their points on to create and imagine outside of science class.
