As a 5th grade teacher, my goal is to engage my students each and every day. Through fun and exciting lessons, I hope to develop a love of learning in each of my students that they will carry throughout their lives.
I teach at a Title I school in rural South Carolina, where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My classroom contains a wide variety of backgrounds and learning styles. Many of these students face challenges, but they are excited about school and eager to learn!
My students need a variety of games to enhance academic skills such as vocabulary, spelling, and parts of speech. These games will also provide an engaging way for students to review before upcoming tests and assessments.
These classroom games will engage my students as they review necessary academic skills, and they will teach important social skills as well.
Students will have the opportunity to work on social interaction, perseverance, and dealing with disagreements and disappointments. These games will also help to enhance their critical thinking skills.
These games will be used not only during academic instruction, but will also be used when indoor recess is necessary due to inclement weather. The games will provide my students with a break from their "screens" and allow them to interact with their peers.
