I know that I am filling this out about a week late, but I wanted to see how things went this weekend to give you the best update I could. The team that has used this robot this year has grown so much as a team. Each student has shown remarkable individual growth that has carried over into their classrooms and homes. I have seen students who are shy and quiet find their voice. They have learned that their ideas are not only valuable, but people want to hear them. I have seen students who are always the first to share and love to talk, learn to recognize those around them and include them in their work.\r\n\r\n Upgrading our robot was a huge success for the students. They were able to learn to code in different ways, and each child was able to bring something new to the table. They are continuing to teach each other what they know, and they are all the better for the variations. This robot was much more compact, and consistent, which is needed for the Lego league board. I am pleased to say that the team competed this past weekend, received 2nd place in robot design, and is moving on to regionals.
