My Project

I just completed my first year back as a classroom teacher after taking three years off to homeschool my own children during Covid. The functionality part of this project is to fund basic classroom needs such as pencil sharpeners, pencil boxes, and staplers. I have also requested a standing desk that can be used for teacher workspace as well as student workspace, if any student needs to stand while displaying their knowledge. The document camera is essential because the district just purchased an amazing curriculum for English language arts. However, we only have one book. So in order for every student to experience the literature, and to see the words, a document camera is essential.

The other portion of this project is to bring fun into the classroom.

A lot of our work involves increasing rigor, and really working to become students who love to learn. What better way to do this than to turn any lesson into a game?! The classroom buzzers, the golden button, and the camera instantly increase engagement.

The school I teach at is a Title I low income school. Being able to bring excitement to learning with engaging game-like lessons will not only increase student engagement, but hopefully increase student attendance. I want my students to be excited to come to school. This project will help promote a positive and engaging learning environment.
