Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are slowly returning to school and resuming their lives while dealing with the CoVid-19 pandemic. Students are under more stress now than ever.

Our school is a Title I school in which 93.6% of the student population qualifies for the free or reduced-price lunch program.

Our student demographics are 79.3% Hispanic, 17.8% Black, and 1.4% White. We also have one of the highest migrant populations in the state at 41.4%

My Project

This year has been more challenging than usual for students due to the CoVId-19 pandemic. The normal daily school experience has been altered with masks, remote learning, and social distancing. All of this has caused more stress in our student's lives as they cope with all of the changes.

There are many health benefits to fish tanks that will help my students.

Some of these benefits are Reduced levels of stress, improved focus, and creativity, decreased anxiety. Looking at a fish tank can slow your heart rate and lower your blood pressure.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
