This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

It is a pleasure to teach 7th-grade Integrated Science, 8th-grade Integrated Science, and 7th and 8th grade Marine Science! My students are hard-working, curious, bright, funny, creative, and resilient learners! They attend a Title I public school, which means that most of our students come from high poverty, low-income communities where most are eligible and receive free or reduced lunch.--

We are excited for the new learning opportunities this year will bring, despite the challenges of COVID-19.

My Project

As we start off the new year, I would love for our students to feel like their classroom is a place where they can feel equipped with the materials to produce high-quality work! We are currently missing a lot of the basic classroom materials like extra pencils, pens, and paper. We use interactive science notebooks in class, which is the way we engage with science inquiry. Although I would love for students to bring their own material, I do know that there are times where students forget things at home or are not prepared when they come to class. These materials are essential for our classroom to run efficiently and productively! We appreciate any and all support!
