Describe my students? My student are my BLESSINGS! I am blessed to have some the most amazing students. Not one student is alike and all come from different places in life. I love my students. They all come from different places in life and are amazing. Students who have been affected by tragedy in life over and over and yet they still come daily to school eager to learn new things. I work with students who are CRITICAL TIER 3 students. But in my eyes they are the scholars of today and tomorrow.
I am requesting two Chromebooks. My job revolves around the students scores on the Istation learning program. Unfortunately, we do not have enough computers in our school to get this done in a timely fashion. We are a low income district and this school year we were recently affected by Hurricane Harvey. Our middle school received most of the damage, though it has affected all of us. We were limited on technology before the disaster, and have suffered since. After Harvey, most of my students still do not have a home, much less a computer. Many of these students never had them at home either. School is the only time that these children have any access to modern technology. In this day and age, students need computer knowledge. If I were able to have a few Chromebooks in my classroom, it would give me more time to teach the students. We spend most of our sessions attempting to find an open computer lab or trying to beat one of the other 60 teachers to our one cart of iPads. Please help me get these students out of the critical bubble, and into a new world of technology.
