For whatever reason, this year's group of kindergarten students had very poor fine motor skills. Obviously these must be developed in order for them to learn to write correctly and legibly, which is a huge part of the kindergarten curriculum.\r\n\r\nI was able to use these items to help students exercise and build these muscles, while having fun, and practicing other important kindergarten concepts. Some of their favorite games were counting and sorting games.\r\n\r\nNot only have these been an instrumental tool for me this year, but they have provided hours of fine motor fun. The best part about them is, that I will be able to use them every year as we start school, to help students prepare to learn handwriting. Thank you so much for your generous donation. Finally, after what seemed like a long waiting period, that afternoon, I put together the Gibson rolling cart, and stocked the shelves with books and paper supplies. Now, the classroom seems much more accessible.\r\n\r\nEach morning, I stand at the Gibson's rolling mount desk and teach phonics, facilitate a daily read-aloud from the books provided, and guide our students through the lessons printed on the paper provided by the donations. It gave them confidence and allowed me to focus on deeper thinking rather than basic access.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, my students were beyond excited. Several students even said, \"This makes learning math so fun!\" Seeing their enthusiasm reminded me how powerful the right tools can be in helping children feel successful and engaged.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our next steps include building stronger independence, problem-solving skills, and collaboration as we continue our current lessons. At our school, Chromebooks play a crucial role in supporting students' education. They are used extensively for online math learning and practice applications, allowing students to engage with interactive lessons that adapt to their individual skill levels. These applications provide instant feedback, which helps students understand concepts more deeply and improve at their own pace.\r\n\r\nIn addition to learning and practicing math, Chromebooks are also used for testing purposes. This allows for a streamlined and efficient way to assess students' progress and tailor instruction based on their needs. The digital format helps reduce errors, speeds up grading, and often provides more detailed insights into areas where students may be struggling.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students the most about the new Chromebooks is that each of them now has their own device. Before, due to a shortage of Chromebooks, students had to share, which limited their time and access. Having their own Chromebook means they can fully engage with learning activities without interruption. This ownership has boosted their enthusiasm and motivation because they feel empowered to explore, learn, and grow with technology as a personal learning tool.","fullyFundedDate":1747163904938,"projectUrl":"project/power-up-learning-with-chromebooks/9087476/","projectTitle":"Power Up Learning With Chromebooks!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Parker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9911728_orig.jpg?crop=306,306,x0,y14&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1738196370368","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9911728"},{"teacherId":9066027,"projectId":9086235,"letterContent":"Thank you for the support with the three extra chrome books.
