Every morning we start off the day sharing ways that we helped someone the day before. My students are learning character development as well as the Common Core. They are eager to learn and become better readers and writers. They are full of great ideas about how to make our world a better place.
My students are excited and eager to learn.
My dreams, hopes, plans, and goals for each of them to is to exceed grade level standards. I want each of them to achieve at a high level academically so that their futures are full of opportunities to pursue higher education and careers of their choice. Our school is in the city. Many of my students' parents did not have the opportunity to pursue a higher education and therefore are struggling financially. The school is 75% free and reduced lunch. The school building is very old, run down, and drab. I have tried to brighten up my room by hanging posters but the walls are made of white painted brick and it's impossible to cover up. The floor is a depressing, old, Grey, cold tile. My classroom has almost no furniture other than student desks. There are no cabinets or bookcases.
This rug will bring color, excitement, coziness, and organization to our classroom. Each student will have their own square to sit in on the rug, which will make our learning time in the rug more manageable. The brightness and color will add some much needed cheer. The alphabet pattern on the rug will be a great reinforcement of what we are learning in class. This rug will be a great addition to our classroom! This rug will engage my students in learning the alphabet. It will also help them to stay focused on my instruction while they are sitting it because each student will have their own square, which will eliminate distractions. The bright colors will excite kids about coming to school and learning. They will take pride in it's beauty in our classroom.
My students take pride in our school and in our classroom, this rug will add to the beauty in our room.
It will allow me to teach more efficiently since each child will have their own seat on the rug and distractions will be minimized. Students will gain more from the instruction, discussions, and shared reading on their new rug.
