Our school is in the city. Many of my students' parents did not have the opportunity to pursue a higher education and therefore are struggling financially. The school is 75% free and reduced lunch. The school building is very old, run down, and drab. I have tried to brighten up my room by hanging posters but the walls are made of white painted brick and it's impossible to cover up. The floor is a depressing, old, Grey, cold tile. My classroom has almost no furniture other than student desks. There are no cabinets or bookcases.
