Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Creating a warm and inviting environment for my students is very important to me. I am a firm believer that creating a welcome feeling and community is half the battle of teaching children. Giving the students a nice comfortable rug to sit on during whole group lessons will be much more inviting than the cold tile they are currently sitting on. This will help them to concentrate more on the lesson and less on being uncomfortable.

The fish tank is in our library area and the kids love to look at it during silent reading time.

The gravel and castle will add to our classroom fish tank! This allows them to have a calm mind and stay focused during guided reading groups.
