This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

What's the most exciting thing about school? Some students might say lunch or recess but not my students. If you ask them, they will say having the opportunity to use the computer is the best day of the week. They love using the computer to create projects and research ideas for future projects.

My students are energetic, visual, and kinesthetic learners.

They enjoy being creative and exploring unknown topics that spark their interest. Our school is like many other schools in the area and we try our best to make what we have in the classroom work for us. It has been a challenge to update our current computers or get in newer technology over the past few years due to budget cuts. It is unfortunate because many of my students have no access to computers at home. My students are eager to learn and experience the endless possibilities a class laptop can provide our classroom. They want to research various topics and are already eager to present the work they have yet to complete.

My Project

I would like to provided my students with the learning opportunities they need to learn and explore technology further. Having a class laptop will provide my students with the opportunity to research and create those great projects they would like to complete. Having a class projector will also enable me to help build their speaking skills and assist them in becoming great presenters, which is an important skill to have. A class projector will also enable me to show the whole class instructional videos and present daily lessons in a visually and engaging format.

It would be great to be able to provide them with the opportunities they need to explore technology and experience it without having to worry about it working properly or waiting an entire week to visit the computer lab.

This is just the beginning for them. I hope to later add more technology so they can be better prepared for the future.
