My Project

I serve K3 through fifth grades students with a variety of backgrounds and needs including students from high poverty and students with diagnoses such as Autism, Downs, Anxiety and ADHD. In working with these students, I have learned that they benefit from a therapy animal to learn about, care for and confide in.

Recently, I have had the opportunity to let my students interact with a bearded dragon.

The students have learned so much about his survival skills and daily life, as well as I have witnessed the calming effect that he provides them. With the funding of this project, I would be able to provide a bearded dragon with a habitat at school.
