This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach a great diversity of students from all neighborhoods of Boston. My students are culturally, economically and academically diverse, and each and every one of them amazes me at how hard they are willing to work to succeed. They know I am a very tough teacher and I have great expectations of them. Every year my commitment to their education is strengthened when I see that with the right resources and steady and patient guidance, there is nothing they can't achieve.
Their passion and excitement for literature is what drives me.
I love making them think every day, especially when they realize that the world becomes more interesting the more they read and write about it.
My Project
Chromebooks will allow my students to be more engaged and willing to participate when the media is one they are familiar with and good at.
I want to give my students access in the classrooms to the Chromebook technology and access to the internet and the wealth of resources they use outside the classroom on a daily basis.
The class set of Chromebooks would allow me to expose them to the real work college environment in which all assignments are submitted and delivered electronically.
I've been converting my assignments to more technology based and the computers in the classroom will facilitate the transition.
